Breaking a world record!
How does a regional supermarket retailer launch its own brand of cookies and make a big splash? By setting a Guinness Book of World Records Record of course! When challenged with finding a way to cut through the promotional clutter Buzzhoney realized that normal digital marketing would likely get lost. With a little bit of homework we discovered that Oreo had sponsored the largest cookie dunk record in India a few years back. Surely we could get at least 1,800 people to show up and break it, right? So with a bit of planning and the hard work by a number of promotional partners and the client, the record was smashed on a gorgeous October weekday in Market Square, downtown Pittsburgh. The news coverage alone made the effort more than worth it. And we all got to eat lots and lots of cookies:)
